The Six Sigma quality management method and change are synonymous in the business world.  Managing change is a complex process which helps the members of an organization abandon their old ways and adjust to a new way of doing things differently. This is normally challenging since there are the issues of culture which are hard to fight. If new practices are adopted, there are high chances that better business processes will be adopted which would lead to improved efficiency and enhancement of motivation among the employees of the company.

It is imperative that managers organize sessions to explain any Six Sigma Projects that are envisaged as this is the only way to get staff cooperation. Not everything should be dictated as the employees need to be given an opportunity to take part in the process by offering their contributions through suggesting what they believe should be done. They will become cooperative after learning that their recommendations have been taken into serious consideration.

Other than doing the above, the managers should look for avenues to enhance staff morale. Holding informal sessions during lunch hours and any other free time could help a great deal in improving the employee confidence in the safety of their jobs and their overall confidence in management. These informal sessions on managing change should not carry a lot of seriousness, but instead be a way to include everyone in a non-stressful environment.

Change is required to be implemented and for the Six Sigma Process to work; it is mandatory to ensure that the business procedures get practical, streamlined, and efficient. The entire workforce should be trained on how the new trend should be managed. The ideas of the managers are bought by the employees if they can prove that they are not only practical, but also sustainable.

When everything has been stated and clearly presented, there is need to ensure that the training offers the employees the desire and incentive to implement the much needed changes in the long run. The members of staff need to have a certain vision that is similar to that of senior management. An employee with a positive attitude will absolutely be motivated to work and assist the business to achieve overall objectives.

A Six Sigma vision gets edged into an employee’s mind when they are sure that everyone will benefit from it when it is finally implemented. The employees should understand that the fortunes of the company will look up and they will benefit immensely due to more jobs and better wages.

A trained and certified Six Sigma Black Belt who is responsible for the Six Sigma change management could easily impart the positive influence on employees, winning their confidence. It pays to inform the employees of the expected changes and educate them about the benefits they will bring before they are introduced.
