Is it hard to get a company to sponsor you for a work Visa in the UK?

I graduate next month with my associates in Computer Science, and am currently studying for my Green Belt in Six Sigma, and should have it by the end of October. I really want to relocate to the UK. I currently work for Bank of America, and have been here for 2 years, 1 position as Senior Customer Service Rep, and another as a Treasury Services Advisor for a technical help desk. How likely would it be for a company to provide me with a work visa if I start applying? Is that something that is usually in the job listing? I am going to try to transfer through my company, but the positions are limited, so I want to have a back up plan. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks again, I really need to relocate there, I currently live in the US.

It’s almost impossible in computers or sciences unless you have a PhD

The company has to prove the position was advertised and NOT ONE qualified EU citizen applied before they could get a sponsors license. With unemployment in the UK the highest for 25 years and 3.3 million unemployed British it would be almost impossible unless you had very specialised skills or experience that nobody in the EU possessed.

An inter-company transfer is pretty much your only option – and the way most Americans are able to work in the UK – unless you wanted to go to school in the UK and come on a student visa.
