Practical advice, if you’re willing to put in the work,
I’ve read a lot of resume books, and this book has the best advice on resume building. Most resume books show you how to construct a standard resume. This book shows you how to build a resume that will get pulled from resume databases and deliver results!
Martin Yates teaches you how to build a strong resume that highlights your strengths and focuses on your TJD (Target Job Description). I filled out his Resume Information Gathering Questionnaire and his Competitive Differentiation Questionnaire, which took a lot of time and work. Don’t get me wrong, it felt a lot like homework and required a lot of motivation to complete.
I really feel like my resume has a lot of edge now, and response to my new resume has been great.
If you do the work that he asks you to do, you will see results and you’ll have an awesome resume that will catch the eyes of prospective employers.
